About Valugan Boulder Beach
Valugan Boulder Beach is a 1-kilometer stretch of smooth, andesite boulders deposited by an eruption of Mt. Iraya nearly 400 years ago and rounded by centuries of wave action. The shore faces the Pacific Ocean, so swimming is not allowed — but the dramatic landscape, sound of waves churning the rocks, and view of sunrise are unforgettable.
